Northrop Grumman Enterprise Shared Services is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the Accounts Payable team. The selected individual will report to the manager of Accounts Payable Solutions and will utilize SAP, Open Text, and Service Now to support Accounts Payable functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, company policies and procedures, disclosure statements, and government regulations, as they relate to our accounts payable tasks. Primary responsibilities will include non-processing duties such as cost transfer adjustments, processing refund checks, researching and clearing items that have gone into a blocked exception status, and helping coordinate and assisting with month end close activities and occasional posting of invoices. The successful candidate must have knowledge of PO related Accounts Payable activities, demonstrate excellent customer service, and have an analytical mindset. This person will be an instrumental to the completion of projects and goals associated within the A/P area. This person will also be expected to perform other responsibilities including:

+ The ability to clearly and professionally communicate related accounting policies and procedures.

+ The ability to multitask and work independently to meet service delivery agreements.

+ Research and respond to audit requests.

+ Be able to create reports and format them in a clear and professional manner.

+ The ability to communicate related accounting policies and procedures.

+ The ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

+ Support month-end requirements

+ Complete special projects as assigned.

Basic qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.

Experience in Account Payable or General Accounting

Intermediate skills in Excel and thorough knowledge of other Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook

Excellent Customer skill set and mind set

Strong attention to detail, accounting oriented knowledge base, and the ability to multi task, manage time, and prioritize.

Preferred qualifications:

SAP Experience

Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or other related field.

Experience in a financial shared services environment

Gov’t contracting experience.

Advance Excel Skills

Understanding of FAR, GAAP, and SOX requirements

Salary Range: $51,900.00 - $86,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
