Job Description
Assists and provides backup support to the Telecommunications Technician V regarding all telecommunication systems. Assists with installation, test, operate, troubleshoot, program, maintain, modify, and repair SL-100 digital switching equipment. Assists with analyzing system performance, and periodic system testing. Assists with installation and maintenance of DC power plant. Assists with operation and maintenance of E911 reporting system. Assists with operation and maintenance of conferencing equipment. Assists with operation and maintenance of Unity and Callware voicemail systems. Assists with data management and operation and maintenance of work order system (TMS) backend. Mentors and trains telecommunications personnel. Must be able to work as part of a team. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Summary: Wachter Inc. is hiring Cable Technicians to support the installation of Wireless Access Points (WAPs) inside Walmart stores across the country. This project requires two technician teams, working overnight shifts (10 hours per night) for 2-3 days per store. The ideal candidates will have experience in CAT5/CAT6 cable installation, fiber optic termination, and troubleshooting network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Pull, terminate, and troubleshoot CAT5/CAT6 cables. Install and terminate fiber optic cables, including connector placement. Run cables from network switches to AP locations. Mount and secure Wireless Access Points (APs) and external omni antennas. Install and paint conduit as needed. Perform connectivity testing and troubleshooting. Work on lifts (40’+) to install equipment at height. Maintain documentation and follow installation standards. This is a 100% traveling position, technicians will be given a van or rental vehicle and will be paid drive time.

**The Role**
+ Operates drilling equipment to complete assigned projects
+ Completes drilling in both standard and high-risk areas; with live utilities
+ Maintains a working knowledge of utility depths and placements

Requirements

+ Ability to travel daily, ability to work outside of business hours when needed, overtime, holidays, evenings, weekends etc., in all seasons
+ Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
+ High level of energy, motivation and attention to detail
+ Ability to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruption
+ Ability to work with a noise level from moderate to loud
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs as needed
+ Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing in all weather conditions year round
+ Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
+ Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving; CDL preferred

**Summary**

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 29.5 hours per week maximum.
